How the reset works

Use the address on the account

The link goes only to the inbox the account was opened with. Sending from a newer address will not find the older account behind it.

The old password stops working

Once the new one is set, the previous password is finished. Nothing else about the policy changes when you reset it.

The link does expire

For safety the reset link stops working after a while. If it has gone stale by the time you open it, ask for another one and the fresh link replaces it.
